Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer Manish Pandey produced a sensational catch to send back Tim David during the IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Raipur on Wednesday, May 13. The 36-year-old launched himself to his left and grabbed a brilliant one-handed catch before holding on even after hitting the ground, leaving David in disbelief.

Pandey showcased remarkable reflexes in the 18th over of RCB’s chase. Kartik Tyagi delivered a short ball outside off stump, and David cut it towards backward point off the back foot. Pandey reacted instantly, diving full stretch to complete the stunning grab.

The TV umpire reviewed the catch closely before confirming it as clean. Even Virat Kohli applauded Pandey for what looked like one of the finest catches of the season. Watch the video here:

For those unaware, Manish Pandey is one of only four cricketers from the inaugural 2008 IPL season still featuring in the 2026 edition. The other three are Rohit Sharma representing Mumbai Indians, Virat Kohli playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and MS Dhoni from Chennai Super Kings.

The Kolkata franchise secured Pandey’s services for INR 75 lakh during the 2026 auction.

Virat Kohli ton powers RCB to six-wicket win over KKR, reclaim top spot in IPL 2026

Virat Kohli starred with a brilliant century as defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets in IPL 2026. The veteran batter remained unbeaten on 105 from 60 deliveries, smashing 11 fours and three sixes to register his ninth IPL hundred.

Devdutt Padikkal also made a useful contribution with 39 off 27 balls. For KKR, Kartik Tyagi was the standout bowler with figures of 3/32, while Sunil Narine picked up one wicket. Asked to bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders posted 192/4 in their 20 overs, thanks largely to Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 71 off 46 balls.

Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 49 from 29 deliveries, while Cameron Green added 32 off 24 balls. With eight wins from 12 matches, Royal Challengers Bengaluru climbed back to the top of the IPL 2026 standings. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders remained eighth with four victories in 11 games and now need to win all three of their remaining home matches to keep their playoff hopes alive.
