Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Deepak Chahar delivered a smart knuckleball to dismiss Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Priyansh Arya during Match 58 of IPL 2026 in Dharamsala on Thursday, May 14. The wicket came on the third ball of the sixth over in PBKS’ innings.

Deepak Chahar bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off stump that jagged back in sharply. Priyansh committed early to the shot, only for the ball to sneak through and crash into the top of the leg stump. Watch the video here:

Arya made 22 runs from 17 deliveries, striking four fours during his knock. His wicket reduced Punjab Kings to 50/1 in 5.3 overs.

PBKS Make Steady Start Despite Priyansh Arya’s Early Dismissal In Powerplay

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and chose to field first. Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Prabhsimran Singh got an early lifeline after being dropped on five by Naman Dhir in the second over. He then stitched together a 50-run partnership off just 33 balls with Priyansh Arya before the latter departed for 22 in the last over of the powerplay.

At the time of writing, PBKS were placed at 67/1 after eight overs, with Prabhsimran Singh batting on 29 alongside Cooper Connolly on 11. The match holds major significance for PBKS as they aim to keep their playoff hopes alive after suffering four consecutive defeats. Meanwhile, MI have already been knocked out of the tournament and are currently ninth on the points table.
