The Kolkata Knight Riders captain looked to flick the ball towards the leg side but failed to get into position. The late movement completely beat his bat before crashing into the stumps. Rahane’s early dismissal increased the pressure on Kolkata in a match they desperately needed to win.

KKR came into the game knowing they must win all their remaining league matches to stay in the playoff race. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans started the contest in a strong position near the top of the table. A victory in Kolkata would officially confirm their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs, making the clash crucial for both teams.
