[WATCH]- Virat Kohli Celebrates After Bhuvneshwar Kumar Dismisses Priyansh Arya In PBKS vs RCB Clash

Royal Challengers Bengaluru stalwart Virat Kohli was visibly delighted after his tactical input paid off during the IPL 2026 clash against Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday, May 17. Moments after Kohli was seen gesturing and sharing advice with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the veteran pacer dismissed explosive opener Priyansh Arya with the very next delivery.

The breakthrough arrived in the opening over of PBKS’ chase. Bhuvneshwar delivered a back-of-a-length ball that held slightly on the surface before climbing awkwardly at Arya. Attempting an aggressive flick across the line towards the leg side, the left-hander mistimed the shot off the toe end of the bat.

The ball lobbed towards mid-wicket, where Romario Shepherd completed a comfortable catch. Kohli immediately celebrated the wicket with an animated fist pump as RCB drew first blood. You can watch the video here:

The veteran batter has now amassed 542 runs from 13 innings in IPL 2026, trailing only Sai Sudharsan (554) and Shubman Gill (552) in the Orange Cap standings.

During the innings, Kohli also became the first cricketer in IPL history to register nine seasons with 500 or more runs. On the bowling front, Bhuvneshwar Kumar continues to lead the Purple Cap race, having claimed 24 wickets in 13 matches so far this season.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, RCB posted a formidable 222/4 in 20 overs. While Virat Kohli continued his rich vein of form, Venkatesh Iyer led the scoring with an unbeaten 73 off 40 balls at a strike rate of 180, featuring four boundaries and three sixes.
