Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the teenage sensation, is likely to make his international debut in the series against Ireland. Ahead of the opening match, he was unexpectedly seen bowling in the nets. India will play two T20Is against Ireland, with the first match scheduled for Friday, June 26, and the second on Sunday, June 28.
Both games will take place in Belfast. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who received his first India call-up for this series, attended his first training session with the senior team a day before the opening match. The 15-year-old impressed in the nets by both batting and bowling.
A slow left-arm orthodox spinner, he bowled to opener Abhishek Sharma during practice. The young player looked calm, confident, and seemed to enjoy the experience while bowling. Watch the video here:

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not bowled much in his career so far. In first-class cricket, he has delivered 14 overs across five innings and taken two wickets. In List A and T20 cricket combined, he has bowled nearly 13 overs but is yet to claim a wicket.
However, with Varun Chakravarthy ruled out of the series, India is short of a spinner. In such a situation, Suryavanshi’s part-time spin could prove useful if needed.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi set to become India’s youngest international debutant
If Vaibhav Suryavanshi features in the playing XI for the opening T20I against Ireland, he will become the youngest Indian to debut in international cricket. The left-handed batter would be 15 years and 91 days old if he makes his debut on Friday.
If that happens, he will surpass the iconic Sachin Tendulkar as the youngest Indian to represent the country internationally. Sachin was 16 years and 205 days old when he made his debut against Pakistan in 1989.
Suryavanshi earned his call-up after a sensational IPL 2026 season, scoring 776 runs in 16 matches at an average of 48.50 and a strike rate of 237.30, including one century and five fifties. He is in excellent form, having recently smashed 94 off 29 balls for India A in the Tri-Nation series final against Sri Lanka.
