[WATCH]- Cricket Ireland Releases Historic Video After Ireland’s Stunning Victory Over India

History was created by Ireland cricket team on June 26, 2026, when they defeated India national cricket team for the first time in international cricket. Before this, Ireland had lost all eight T20Is played against India.

That streak finally came to an end when Arshdeep Singh miscued an aerial shot off Matthew Humphreys, with Tim Tector completing a superb catch in the deep to seal the memorable win for the hosts.

Ireland bowled India out for 148 to secure a commanding 34-run victory in the opening T20I of the two-match series. Cricket Ireland later shared a video of the historic winning moment on its official X handle. You can watch the clip here, which was posted by CI with the caption:

“The moment history was made!”

Matt Hollard was adjudged Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the contest. He delivered a decisive spell of 3/28 in his four overs, removing Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Washington Sundar to play a crucial role in dismantling India’s batting lineup in Belfast.

Lorcan Tucker’s Fifty Powers Ireland to Competitive Total

Earlier in the match, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first, but the decision did not work in India’s favor as the hosts piled up an imposing total of 182. Despite challenging batting conditions, Ireland captain Lorcan Tucker produced a fine half-century to guide the innings.

Tucker top-scored with a well-made 50 off 36 deliveries, while Gareth Delany fell agonizingly short of his fifty, missing out by just one run. Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna endured a difficult outing, conceding 57 runs in his four overs without taking a wicket, including 27 runs in the final over alone.

In pursuit of 183, India suffered early setbacks but remained in contention thanks to a rapid half-century from Abhishek Sharma. However, the middle order failed to build on the momentum, resulting in India’s first-ever defeat to Ireland in men’s international cricket across all formats.
