“Every Rumour Is True”: Akriti Agarwal’s Cryptic Post With Prithvi Shaw Goes Viral

Months after her engagement to cricketer Prithvi Shaw, his fiancée Akriti Agarwal shared a cryptic post on her Instagram story. Shaw and the social media influencer-actress got engaged on March 8, 2026. In the post, Akriti claimed that she had been cheated on several times.

She also wrote that every rumour and social media claim about “him” was true. However, she did not mention Prithvi Shaw by name anywhere in the story.

“I got cheated so many times, yet I never said a word. Still can’t believe that after taking one step ahead… Everything is true every rumours is true. What you see on social media about him,” she wrote.

Although the story has since been removed from her Instagram account, a screenshot of the post was later shared by a user on X.

Prithvi Shaw announced his engagement by sharing a series of photos on his Instagram account.

“From sixes on the field to a lifetime of hits off it. She’s is my perfect innings!🏆❤️ #justengaged,” had captioned the post.

The post has fuelled speculation about her relationship with Prithvi Shaw. Akriti had been in a long-term relationship with the cricketer, and the couple got engaged only around four months ago.

Prithvi Shaw Missed Entire IPL 2026 Season

After going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Prithvi Shaw returned to the tournament in 2026 after being re-signed by his former franchise, Delhi Capitals (DC), for ₹75 lakh in the accelerated auction. However, his return did not result in any playing time, as the right-handed batter spent the entire season on the bench without featuring in a single match.

Despite Delhi Capitals experimenting with openers such as Pathum Nissanka and debutant Sahil Parakh, Shaw was not included in the playing XI. Shaw began his IPL career with Delhi Capitals in 2018 after being bought for ₹1.2 crore.

His most successful season came in 2021, when he scored 479 runs in 15 matches at an average of 31.93 and a strike rate of 159.13, including four fifties. However, after three underwhelming seasons between 2022 and 2024, DC released him ahead of the 2025 IPL season.
