There have been many instances where cricketers were working in the completely different field before getting into the game. These men never thought they will be playing on the grounds that they used to see on TV. Kulwant Khejroliya”s story is quite similar, an inspirational one. This year Khejroliya was bought by Royal Challengers for Rs 85 lakhs.
Kulwant Khejroliya was born on 13 March 1992 in Rajasthan. While there are cricketers who play U-16 and U-19, Khejroliya made a quiet late entry into cricket around the age of 23-24. Till then he was working as a waiter in Goa. It was only last year that he grabbed the eyeballs of his friend who insisted he should take up the sport professionally.
Kulwant listened to him and went on to join LB Shastri School in Delhi which has produced the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Nitish Rana and Unmukht Chand. However, he didn”t inform this to his parents who were under the misconception that he is in Ahmedabad working in friend”s transport business.

The stint at LB Shastri School metamorphosed him from amateur to a domestic cricketer and he soon made his List A debut on 26 February 2017. He impressed everyone on his debut picking 3/61 from 10 overs.
He was picked up by Mumbai Indians for 10 lakhs at IPL Auction 2016. Even though he hasn”t got a game for them, one thing is certain that he has got a bright future ahead! His story is very inspirational, its never too late to pursue something you love!
