India Star Joins Yorkshire on Multi-Format Deal After England Series

Yorkshire County Cricket Club have signed India spinner Kuldeep Yadav following the conclusion of the ODI series against England. The club currently sits sixth in the Metro Bank One Day Cup 2026 standings and eighth in the Rothesay County Championship.

Kuldeep has joined Yorkshire on a multi-format contract and is expected to feature in five Metro Bank One Day Cup matches and three Rothesay County Championship fixtures during the remainder of the season.

“I’m really pleased to be joining Yorkshire and grateful for this opportunity. It will be a real privilege to represent a club with Yorkshire’s proud history,” he was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

“Kuldeep is an accomplished, international quality player who will add incredible strength to our line-up for these blocks of fixtures,” Yorkshire general manager of cricket Gavin Hamilton stated. (via aforementioned source)

The 31-year-old wrist-spinner will link up with the Yorkshire squad immediately ahead of their Metro Bank One Day Cup clash against Glamorgan on July 24. He will then return later in September for the closing stages of the Rothesay County Championship.

Kuldeep was part of India’s squad for the ODI series against England but did not get a chance to feature in any of the three matches.

Kuldeep Yadav’s Record In England And Career Stats

Kuldeep Yadav has featured in 10 ODIs in England, picking up 15 wickets at an average of 32.33 and an economy rate of 5.00. His best ODI figures in the country are 6/25. In Tests, he has played just one match in England, during India’s 2018 tour.

“I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of playing in English conditions and after speaking with the management, I became really excited to join up with the team and I’m looking forward to making a positive contribution during my time at Headingley,” he added.

Overall, the left-arm wrist-spinner has represented India in 121 ODIs and 18 Tests. He has claimed 194 wickets in ODIs at an average of 27.04 and an economy rate of 5.07, with a career-best 6/25.

In Test cricket, Kuldeep has taken 79 wickets in 34 innings at an average of 22.35 and an economy rate of 3.53, including five five-wicket hauls, with best figures of 5/40.
