Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced a fresh set of selectors for the upcoming season. Fast bowler Ajit Agarkar has been appointed as Chairman of the selection committee which comprises of former left arm off spinner Nilesh Kulkarni, Jatin Paranjpe and Sunil More.
The U-19 selection committee will be headed by Rajesh Pawar and consists of Avishkar Salvi, the former right arm seamer, Raju Sutar and Santosh Shinde.
For the women’s committee, Trupati Bhattacharya has been appointed as the chairperson & three other members of the selection committee are Sangeeta Kamat, Vishaka Dalvi and Rahul Thakur.
Mumbai is the most successful team in history of Ranji Trophy with 41 titles in 83 seasons in their trophy cabinet.
Ajit Agarkar has played first-class cricket for 17 years and has played 26 tests and 191 ODIS for India. He has 288 wickets in ODIS. Jatin Paranjpe, son of former cricketer Vasu Paranjpe, was a left handed batsman who has made 4 ODI appearances for India.
Sunil More was a batsman who played 25 First Class Matches in 1990s. Nilesh Kulkarni was a left arm spinner who holds a unique record of getting a wicket off his very first ball in test cricket.
