The England – Australia limited-overs series has typically been a series of epic collapses. Starting from the T20s we’ve seen how Australia has collapsed under pressure to England banking on those collapses. But in the 3rd ODI Australia managed to seal through a win despite an early collapse. In the chase of 303 runs, Australia was in an uncomfortable position as Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoinis were dismissed early on.
The responsibility was on David Warner to help Australia through the chase. But in the lead up to the chase, he was a victim of an absolute shocker of delivery by Joe Root. The part-timer who has been bowling quite a lot recently was brought in to attack very early on in the Aussie inning.
Root bowling the 10th over pitched the ball on the line of middle and leg which spun through enough to beat Warner’s bat. The ball beat the Aussie batsmen as he was looking to nudge it down towards covers. England players leapt in celebration as they had got Australia’s top three back to the pavilion in under 10 overs time.

The wicket wasn’t enough for the Englishmen as Alex Carrey and Glenn Maxwell scored centuries to take Australia across the finishing line. Both batsmen stitched together an incredible 212 run partnership as Australia sealed the One Day series 2 -1 after losing the T20 series 2 -1 to England.
