David Warner Stresses on Mental Health of Players

It’s important to look after the mental health and well-being of every player. One also needs to be smart and take time out when the situation gets too challenging” said David Warner.

The left-hander also said that the environment around the players needs to be light so that they can enjoy and also have fun in the process of staying isolated.

“It’s important to look out for each other and keep interacting. We have to make it as fun for the players as possible and not make the environment too serious. One needs to bond well with your teammates. I know it’s a very challenging environment. I have a wife and three girls back home. It’s difficult to be away from your family for such a long time” Warner added.

Ahead of their first game, Warner said that the players should understand that not everyone will play together in every game and thus its the team management’s job to clarify the same within the team.

“Not everyone can play every game. There needs to be clarity in the thinking of the whole group” said David Warner.

Empty Stadiums Not a Concern- Warner

Warner also spoke about the players having to play in empty stadiums, something which will take time to get used to. However, he added saying that the intensity of the game, will not allow the players to think on those lines.

“Having no crowds will be different, but once you get into the tournament, I don’t think the players will take much notice of it” the SRH skipper concluded saying.
