Very quickly IPL 2020 has moved into match 14 this season. Chennai Super Kings are coming back to play Sunrisers Hyderabad after a week-long gap in the tournament. While Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to keep up their winning momentum when they play CSK in Dubai on October 2. SRH and CSK are the bottom two teams in the points table at the moment.

However, CSK is down on confidence at the moment very opposite to the Sunrisers who are buoyed by their first win. More about the Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview in detail.

Chennai Super Kings have some good news heading into this CSK vs SRH encounter. After missing their senior players Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo in the previous two games, both of them are fit and available for selection. Bravo in fact has missed all three of CSK’s matches so far.

Chennai Super Kings seek perfect combinations

The unavailability of these two senior players became a huge talking point for Chennai in the games that they lost and coach Stephen Fleming spoke about not finding the right team combination.

Another big issue which the team has failed to counter is the dew factor. CSK has chased in all the three games they have played so far and in two of them, they lost. While they conceded 2016 against Rajasthan, they gave away 175 runs against Delhi and lacked the gas to chase the totals down.

With CSK needing to win games now, it will be interesting to see the on-field tactics they use against SRH first and then in their next games.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, were clinical in their performance against Delhi Capitals in their next game. All of their overseas players, who form the core of the team performed for the side. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow were back among the runs and gave a good start to their team. Having got a start against Delhi, they would like to continue the form against Chennai Super Kings.

Kane Williamson had an instant impact on the game by his presence. The SRH middle-order which was their biggest worry seemed sorted by Williamson’s inclusion. He scored 41 off 26 balls batting in the middle-over tasking SRH to a par score. Rashid Khan put the icing on the cake against Delhi by picking 3 for 14.

All in all, Sunrisers had the perfect game against Delhi and would like a repeat of that same performance against Chennai Super Kings.

Head to Head

In the 12 matches played between the two teams, CSK has the wood over the Orange Army. The Men in Yellow have nine games while SRH has won just three. Moreover, in the last five meetings between the two sides, CSK has won four games.

Weather & Pitch Conditions

The weather will continue to be hot and humid in Dubai. Out of the six games played at this venue, we have had two Super Overs and consistent scores between 170 to 200. A record score of 223 was also chased down at this very venue. Therefore, continuing the trend, another high-scoring encounter is on the cards. Also, the trend of captains chasing in IPL is changing.

Team News

Having Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo available for selection, there are changes expected in the CSK camp. On the other hand, it is unlikely that SRH would like to break the winning combination. Kane Williamson should be a regularity in the middle-order for SRH.
