The stare and the angry face from Kane Williamson after a misjudged run-out involving Priyam Garg was the highlight from yesterday’s game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. However, both of them hugged it out and the youngster revealed what Williamson told him after his half-century knock following the run-out.
Meanwhile, struggling at 69 for three with David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, and Manish Pandey, Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t want to lose any more wickets. But as it turned, an error in judgement cost Sunrisers Kane Williamson. Tremors went down spines of the 19-year old Priyam Garg. Although it wasn’t completely his fault, but when you are playing your first IPL, expectations will be to sacrifice your wicket.

But the Indian U-19 skipper didn’t give up. He believed in himself to score a 23-ball 50 and add 77 runs with Abhishek Sharma which changed the game completely. Speaking at the end of the game, Priyam Garg revealed what Kane Williamson told after he redeemed himself with a half-century.
“It felt really bad when he got run-out. He was a set batsman. That he was run-out was a mistake, but everything went alright after that,” says Garg to IPLT20.com. “When I went back to the dugout, he said to me ‘Don’t worry mate, forget about it. You’ve batted really well,” he added.Â

Meanwhile, speaking about his partnership with Abhishek Sharma, which changed the complexion of the game, Priyam Garg stated he was at ease while batting with the former. Incidentally, both the rookies have played with each other and understand’s each others game well.
The youngster also said that it felt nice to score his first half-century in the most illustrated T20 league in the world.
“I had no pressure when Abhishek came in to bat, because we know each other and our strengths,” Priyam Garg said, of the predicament SRH found themselves in when the two rookies came together. “We both gelled well together and enjoyed each others’ batting. I felt really good about scoring my first IPL fifty,” he signed off.Â
