The match had several interesting talking points which turned the attention of the fans and cricket experts alike. It was another dominating performance from the Delhi Capitals who are becoming stronger with every match they play.
More about the Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore talking points in details below:
1. R Ashwin’s ‘Mankading Moment’
R Ashwin was again at his ’mankading’ game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai in match 19 of IPL 2020. He warned RCB opener Aaron Finch, who was way out of his batting crease before Ashwin was even close to his delivery stride.
Very cheekily the Delhi Capitals off-spinner warned Finch, which became the moment of the match. The incident happened between the third and the fourth ball of the third over of the RCB innings. It was Devdutt Padikkal on strike with R Ashwin just pulling out from nearly mankading Finch at the bowler’s end.

2. Delhi’s Strong Performance With The Bat
If it was skipper Shreyas Iyer against KKR, it was Marcus Stoinis against RCB. Delhi Capitals has found a hero with the bat in almost every match they have played so far. This highlights the depth in their batting line-up and the capability of them playing matchwinning innings.
Stoinis scored 56 off 23 balls in the middle-order to help Delhi finish on 196/4. As it turned out Delhi had scored enough to challenge the power-packed RCB batting line-up.
3. RCB’s Bowling Woes
This was another occasion where the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers did not stand up to their potential. They were able to dismiss just four batsmen from the opposition. RCB gave away 60 runs in the powerplay. The pulled things back in the middle overs from seven to 13 giving away just 30 runs.
Marcus Stoinis then took toll of the RCB bowlers ensuring that Delhi posts an above-par total of 196.
4. Virat Kohli Reading The Script Wrong
CSK’s win against KXIP was the first instance out of nines games in total where a chasing team won the game. It was this that made Virat Kohli opt to chase after he won the toss. However, RCB’s powerhouse batting line-up failed to get going in the chase as Kohli played a lone hand scoring a 39-ball 43.
That they lost four wickets inside the powerplay, did not help their cause as well.
5. Rabada’s Clean Up Job
Kagiso Rabada accounted for Virat Kohli’s wicket in the 14th over of the RCB innings, taking the sting out of the chase. Delhi Capitals spinners R Ashwin (4-0-26-1) and Axar Patel (4-0-18-2) played their role t perfection o set it up for Rabada at the death.
The Protean pacer missed his hattrick against RCB on Monday. However, he did not know about it at all during his spell. Rabada sits at the top of the log for wicket-takers in IPL 2020 so far. he has 12 wickets from five games including a four-fer against RCB.
