IPL 2020: Just Keeping It Simple Worked For Me – Quinton de Kock

The war of the table toppers has finally ended as Mumbai Indians have triumphed over the Delhi Capitals at the Zayed Cricket Stadium to go to the top of IPL 2020 points chart. Delhi’s score of 162 wasn’t really enough as Quinton De Kock and Surya Kumar Yadav made sure Mumbai Indians convincingly chase it down with the help of other batsmen down the order.

It all started at the toss when Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. There wasn’t anything much to think abt the track record at Abu Dhabi as it’s been a tricky pitch whether you bat first or second as teams have won matches doing both at this particular stadium.

Mumbai Indians Triumph Delhi Capitals As Table Toppers

Batting first Delhi had a horror start as they lost Prithvi Shaw for just four runs in the very first over as Trent Boult dismissed him. At three was Delhi Capitals debutant Ajinkya Rahane who tried stitching a decent partnership with Dhawan but ended up getting plumb lbw to Krunal Pandya.

After which it was Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan who led the charge taking Delhi Capitals to a score of 162 at the end of 20 overs.

At the post-match presentation, Quinton de Kock said that that he enjoyed the win since he kept it fairly simple while batting. Since he has been batting well in the nets he wasn’t stressed as much while batting out in the middle as he had a string of low scores before returning back to form this season.

“Enjoyed the win. Just keeping it simple worked for me. I have been batting well in the nets. I wasn’t too stressed. Lack of runs is disappointing, but I wasn’t too stressed because I have been hitting it well in the nets,” Quinton de Kock said.
