Evin Lewis special batting display powered West Indies to a 9 wicket win over India in the only T20 match at Sabina Park, Jamaica last night. After losing the toss, the Indian team got off to a flying start with Kohli and Dhawan putting on 66 for the first wicket. After that they lost wickets, as a result, India scored 190 for 6 in 20 overs, Evin Lewis scored 125* which helped West Indies to a comfortable 9 wicket win.

West Indies captain Carlos Braithwaite won the toss and elected to field at Sabina Park, Jamaica. The Indian captain Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan started the innings on a flying scoring with both of them smashing West Indies new ball bowlers of Samuel Badree and Jerome Taylor for 26 runs in the first 2 overs. Virat Kohli looked in great touch hitting the ball all over the park. Before the powerplay overs ended, captain Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were dismissed in the same over. At the end of 6 overs, India were 66 for 2.

Rishabh Pant who was playing his first match of the series struggled for timing while Dinesh Karthik created a lot of pressure on West Indies bowlers by hitting innovative strokes. The right-handed batsman showed positive intent. At the end of 15 overs, India was 140 for 2. Both Karthik and Pant added 86 runs for the third wicket before Karthik was dismissed for 48 off Marlon Samuels bowling. In the next over, Taylor dismissed MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant in the same over to leave India at 156 for 5 in the 17th over. In an attempt to hit a big shot, Kedar Jadhav was dismissed. In the last over Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja hit 18 runs to help India post 190 for 6 in 20 overs. Despite that in the last 10 overs, India scored 97 runs.

Chasing the target of 191, the West Indies innings got off to a flying start with Evin Lewis in a great hitting mood. As Chris Gayle was struggling for timing, the left-handed batsmen smashed the Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. In the first six overs, West Indies scored 66 runs for 0. After the power play, Lewis continued his style of play completing his fifty in 24 balls. Chris Gayle was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for 18 runs.

Evin Lewis was dropped twice and made the Indians pay for mistakes. Lewis completed his second century against India in 53 balls. Both Lewis and Marlon Samuels added 112 runs in 10.1 overs. Lewis remained not out on 125 in 62 balls with 6 fours and 12 sixes while Samuels not out on 36 in 29 balls. West Indies won the match by 9 wickets with 9 balls to spare.

West Indies 194 for 1 in 18.3 overs ( Evin Lewis 125*, Kuldeep Yadav 1/34) beat India 190 for 6 in 20 overs ( Dinesh Karthik 48, Virat Kohli 39, J Taylor 2/32, Kesrick Williams 2/42) by 9 wickets.
