Chris Gayle is among the four batsmen in IPL history to either remain unbeaten or get dismissed on 99 in IPL history. Gayle incidentally was left stranded on 99 once before in his IPL career against RCB his former IPL franchise in 2019 while playing for Kings XI Punjab.
On Friday, October 30, Gayle was once again dismissed on 99 by Jofra Archer against Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah. After his knock, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, who is a batting legend himself in his own right, hailed the Universe Boss as the Don Bradman of T20 cricket.
Virender Sehwag Hails Chris Gayle As “T20 Ka Bradman”
He took to Twitter to announce Chris Gayle as “T20 Ka Bradman,” after his breathtaking innings against Rajasthan Royals. He scored 99 off 63 balls including six fours and eight mammoth sixes in his innings.

The West Indian is leading the chart for the maximum sixes in the T20s. Kieron Pollard is in second place with 690 sixes in 524 games while former Kiwi batsman Brendon McCullum is in third place with 485 sixes in 370 matches.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals beat Kings XI Punjab in that game to keep their playoffs hopes alive in the tournament. The Royals win has also kept the playoff hopes of SRH and Kolkata Knight Riders alive as well. The Royals play against KKR later tonight in their last league game in Dubai tonight. The winner of this game will knock the opposition out of the tournament.
While Kings XI Punjab face a resurgent CSK side who have been spoilers in the campaign of RCB and KKR. MS Dhoni’s men beat both these teams to make their road difficult for the playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders have just one game to go in this IPL to determine their luck for the IPL 2020 playoffs. Teams who lose will be knocked out from the competition this season.
