Mohammad Kaif, the hero of India’s win over England in 2002 NatWest Trophy has been the recent target of religious bigots after posting a picture with his son while playing chess. Earlier Mohammad Shami and Irfan Pathan have also been subjected to this kind of harassment.
Kaif took to social media to share a light moment he was spending with his son, he wrote, “Shatranj Ke Khilaadi #fatherson #kabirtales #instaplay,” along with a photo showing he was playing chess with his son. Within minutes, people started victimizing him saying playing chess is a sin in Islam. A person named Anwar Shaikh was said, quoting,” “Bhai yeh game harraaam he (Brother, this game is a sin).” Somebody even wrote that playing chess is prohibited in Islam. An angry otherwise known to be calm, Kaif took to twitter to show his disgust. He wrote, “What? Thekeedar ji se poochiye is breathing haraam or not. Kamaal hai yaar.”

However, this is not the first time Kaif has been subjected to this kind of trolls. Earlier he posted a picture of him doing Surya namaskar, and wrote, “Surya Namaskar is a complete workout Fr the physical system, comprehensive exercise forms without any need fr equipment. #KaifKeFitnessFunde. This irked the religious chauvinist who once again started harassing the former India cricketer.
A few days back, one of the finest all-rounder in Indian cricket, Irfan Pathan was targeted by this people the same way when he posted a photo of him and wife, Sana Baig on Instagram and Facebook captioning, “This girl is trouble #love #wifey.”

In the picture, Baig was seen wearing a hijab while her hands were not covered. This offended the fanatical guardian of Islam because of her exposed hands and un-Islamic nail-paint. Satirically, Sana Baig was a model and a nail artist before her marriage. Pathan’s social media pages comment section were full of infuriated outbursts, while some people requested him to behave like a true Pathan; others suggested him to change his surname from Pathan to Sharma, Nair or Singh.
However, Pathan chose to ignore this trolls completely. Instead, he posted the same picture again on twitter, this time wording, “Kuch to log kahenge logo ka kaam hai kehna but always #love #travel,” demonstrating that he was aware of the all reactions that people gave.

Last year, team India pacer Mohammad Shami’s wife was insulted when the duo was seen in a picture where his wife was seen wearing a sleeveless gown. People started condemning the picture as according to Islam women should cover their whole body. However, Shami took a strong position to hit back to his trolls.

He wrote on Twitter, “Very good morning Har kisi ko jindagi mai mukam ni milta, kuch kismat wale hi hote hai jinhe ye nasib hota hai! Jalteee rahooooo (Not everyone gets what they desire; only a lucky few get it. They are my wife and daughter and I know what I should do. We should all look inwards).”

I myself know what to do and what not to do. We should all look within ourselves how nice we are).” Former cricketers like Mohammad Kaif and Syed Kirmani was seen defending Shami.
