The latest ICC T20I rankings are out and Indian skipper Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have gained after their latest outing against Australia. India won the series 2-1 and both Kohli and Rahul scored big for India. Rahul scored a 50 in the first game and a 30 in the third.
Meanwhile, Kohli scored 85 in the final T20I against Australia at SCG, gained one spot to be at No. 8. Unfortunately, Kohli’s knock was not enough to see India through in Sydney. England left-hander Dawid Malan continued to lead the chart in the ICC T20I rankings for batsmen.
In the bowler’s rankings, the top two spots belong to Afghanistan spin wizards Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Mujeeb, unfortunately, was hospitalised with illness ahead of Brisbane Heat’s opening encounter in BBL 10. Meanwhile, Rashid is available for another season with Adelaide Strikers and will be a part of their team.

Australia won the third T20I to bring an end to India’s winning streak of 12 wins in as many games this year. This is the first loss for the team this year. The 12-match winning streak was also India’s longest in T20Is overall.
Both teams will now face each other in a four-match Test series starting with the first Test in Adelaide from December 17. This will be India’s first Pink-Ball Test overseas and their second overall.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will be missing from the Indian Test squad for the final three Tests. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has said that it’s an opportunity for the Indian bench strength to show their potential in Kohli’s absence.
“But let’s understand, this is not about individuals. It is about our team and the best part about Indian cricket right now is there is bench strength. So Virat has to come back for personal reasons and some youngster is going to get a chance to play in his spot and that’s an opportunity for someone else” added Tendulkar.
