The BCCI has declared a total of 6 venues where a bio-bubble will be designed for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament. The competitive domestic T20 tournament is all set to begin from 10th January next month. The BCCI had postponed all the domestic matches in India due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
Now BCCI Secretary Jay Shah put an email to all the necessary state associations, which the Mid-day observed, naming the six centres where the tournament would be staged. The venues that are chosen by BCCI are Bangalore, Kolkata, Vadodara, Indore, Mumbai and Chennai as hosts to the 38 teams.
BCCI Announces 6 Venues For Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament
The team have been divided into five Elite groups of A, B, C, D, E and the competition will also feature 8 new teams. The 8 new sides in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament are Chandigarh, Bihar and teams from the North East will be a part of the Plate group. The tournament will also be a preview for BCCI of what to expect in IPL 2021 when the tournament is played in a bio-secure bubble.

“The teams will have to assemble at their respected venues on or before January 2. “They will be needed to undergo COVID-19 testing procedures and quarantine in accordance with the state regulatory authorities,” the email said.
Elite A: Venue Bangalore
Teams: Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Railways and Tripura
Elite B: Venue Kolkata
Teams: Odisha, Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Hyderabad
Elite C: Venue Vadodara
Teams: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Baroda and Uttarakhand
Elite D: Venue Indore
Teams: Services, Saurashtra, Vidarbha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Goa
Elite E: Venue Mumbai
Teams: Haryana, Andhra, Delhi, Mumbai, Kerala and Puducherry
Plate: Venue Chennai
Teams: Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh
