Arjun Tendulkar set to feature for the Mumbai U-19 squad In Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Arjun Tendulkar, son of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has been selected to represent the Mumbai u-19 team for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Mumbai will take on Baroda and Saurashtra on October 9 and 10 respectively.

The Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) U-19 selection committee led by Rajesh Pawar has chosen the team for the first two matches. The team will be led by Agni Chopra while Atharva Ankolekar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Anjunadeep Lad were also included in the team.

This will be the debut series for the all-rounder for the Mumbai u-19 team. The head of the selection committee Rajesh Pawar regarded Arjun as the main all-rounder of the side. While talking to Mid-day he said, “He will be our main all-rounder. I saw a lot of improvement in his game. When we played in Baroda recently, he bowled well and during our two practice matches here in Mumbai, he bowled and batted well. I consider him as a bowling all-rounder of the team.”

The 18-year-old cricketer has a substantial amount of experience under his belt as he was recently seen bowling at the nets England National team in Lords. He was also spotted at the Indian Women’s team practice sessions as they were gearing up for the World Cup final against England.

Previously, he has sent England batsman Johnny Bairstow off the field with a toe-crushing yorker as the England team was preparing for the test series against South Africa.

Earlier Arjun has represented Mumbai at under-16 level in 2015-16 and has played in the ‘B’ division just last year.
