BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was admitted to Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital in Kolkata after complaining of acute chest pain. He started feeling unwell after he developed a sudden blackout while training at a gym session earlier today.

After developing a sudden blackout at the gym, Ganguly was taken straight to Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital in Kolkata to get the tests done where it was revealed that it’s a cardiac issue. As of now, Ganguly is ‘stable’ and admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital. The Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital has created a 3 member board with Dr Saroj Mondal who will be performing the procedure later today.

Speaking to ANI, sources close to Ganguly said that he complained of pain in the chest and might need angioplasty. “Dada (Sourav) complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. He might need to undergo angioplasty. He is out of danger,” the source said.

Ganguly was recently met the paid a visit to the Governor of West Bengal which sparked rumours of him joining politics. However, the former Indian skipper has rubbished such claims. After meeting the Governor of Bengal, Sourav Ganguly visited the country’s capital where he attended a function in which Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled Arun Jaitley’s statue at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.

Sourav Ganguly is currently the president of the BCCI where he had assumed office last October as he took over from the previous president C.K Khanna. Though his term shouldn’t have been over by July 2020, since the supreme court hasn’t conveyed any decision on the same, he’s still continuing in the role.

One of Sourav Ganguly’s most successful events under his leadership was the recently concluded IPL in the UAE where the board managed to earn close to 4000 crore rupees by organizing the IPL in a bio-secure bubble.
