Australia’s top order Batsman David Warner who marked his return in the recently concluded has apologised to Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj for the racial abuse he faced In the test at Sydney. According to a BCCI source, Mohammed Siraj was called Brown Dog and Black Monkey by a group of Australian spectators who passed racist comments on him and Jasprit Bumrah after the end of the day’s play on day 3. The BCCI on their part lodged an official complaint regarding the incident.
After Siraj was abused, the pacer standing at deep fine leg / third man then complained to his skipper Ajinkya Rahane and the umpires about the incident. Soon the police were involved who then asked the six spectators to leave the premises.

I would expect better from our home crowd – David Warner
Opening batsman David Warner said it was great for him to be back playing Test cricket after being ruled out of the first two Tests. David Warner marked his return in the longer format but it didn’t yield him the result in Australia’s favour though, in the end, he feels that’s what Test cricket is all about. He further congratulated the Indian side for the efforts they put in to secure a draw in Sydney.
“It was great to be back out on the park again this week. Was not the ideal result for us but this is what Test cricket is all about. 5 days of tough cricket and well done to our guys for working as hard as we could, congrats to India in the way they fought hard for the draw, and that’s why we love this game, it’s not easy,” Warner wrote on Instagram.
David Warner, who is a favourite among the Indians has come out apologising to Mohammed Siraj and the Indian Team for the racist slurs thrown by the crowd in Sydney. Warner said racism and abuse are not acceptable or tolerated anywhere in the World which is why he expects better from his home crowd.
“Move onto Brisbane now for the decider and what a place the Gabba is to play at. I’d also like to say sorry to @mohammedsirajofficial and the Indian team as racism, and abuse is not in any way acceptable or tolerated anywhere at any time, and I would expect better from our home crowd,” he added.
