India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma has praised India’s debutant in the Brisbane Test, T Natarajan for the way he has so far bowled In the Test. As we all are aware, before the Australian tour T Natarajan was to travel with the Indian Test as a net bowler due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic scenario. But with Varun Chakravarthy getting injured just before departing from UAE, Natarajan was called in as a replacement which did wonders for the pacer from Tamil Nadu.
T Natarajan is the first Indian player to make a debut in all three of the same tour as after making his ODI debut, Natarajan went on to make his T20 debut followed by which he was also rewarded with a Test cap in Brisbane as a result of multiple injuries pondering upon the Indian side. In the limited-overs leg, Natarajan picked up 8 wickets in 4 matches whereas he picked up 3 wickets in the first innings of the Brisbane Test.

T Natarajan looks like a bright prospect for sure – Rohit Sharma
India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma has termed Natarajan as a bright prospect for Team India going forward given that he showed tremendous discipline whilst playing for the Indian team in the limited-overs leg. He further went on to add how the first spell he bowled in the Brisbane Test was very accurate.
“Natarajan is a bright prospect for us, he showed a lot of discipline when he played for India in the white-ball format. He was coming off a good IPL and he carried that confidence into the white-ball series against Australia.
Then to have a Test match like that, the first spell he bowled was very accurate, if I have to judge,” said Rohit during the virtual press conference on Saturday.
Rohit Sharma hailed T Natarajan for his understanding which was impressive for someone playing his first Test. He feels Natarajan tried doing exactly what the team management wanted him to do which is why he’s definitely a bright prospect for the Indian team going forward.
“Somebody who is playing his first Test, we can really say that he understands his bowling really well, it is something that India wants. Natarajan was trying to do what was expected out of him and I think he looks like a bright prospect for sure,” he added.
