Former Team India skipper Anil Kumble seemed impressed with Jasprit Bumrah after the latter was seen imitating Kumble’s bowling action. Incidentally, the ace fast bowler has earned a reputation for himself imitating former and current cricketers.
The Indian cricketers have assembled at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai for the forthcoming Test series against England starting from February 5. After a couple of days break since landing from Australia after the historic victory Down Under, the cricketers hit the ground from January 30 (Saturday).
Anil Kumble impressed with Jasprit Bumrah’s imitation
During the net session, Jasprit Bumrah was seen emulating Anil Kumble in a video shared by BCCI on their official Twitter handle. Kumble – India’s leading wicket-taker in Tests and ODIs, was also the head coach from 2016-2017 when Bumrah was rising up the ranks at the highest level.

Meanwhile, Anil Kumble seemed mighty impressed with Jasprit Bumrah’s video and stated that the fast bowler came very close to Kumble’s bowling action very wishing him luck for the forthcoming series against England.
“Well done Boom. Pretty close. You are an inspiration to the next generation of young fast bowlers who are imitating your style. Best wishes for the upcoming series,” Anil Kumble replied to BCCI’s tweet.

Anil Kumble had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2008. He finished with 619 wickets in the longest format of the game. He has the third-highest number of wickets (619) in Tests, only behind Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Australia’s Shane Warne (708).
Following his retirement, he also served as the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team before stepping down from the role. Currently, he is the head coach of Kings XI Punjab in the IPL.
