India batsman KL Rahul has completed his rehab after getting injured during the Australian tour during the Test series. The wicket-keeper batsman who looked in fine touch during the limited-overs leg in Australia was in line to play the 3rd Test at Sydney but was ruled out of the remaining two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after suffering a wrist injury while batting in the nets.
The Karnataka player was selected for the Test squad which is all set to face England in 4 Tests but there’s a high chance that KL Rahul may not feature in any of the Tests given that India have had their opening combination sorted with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill opening the innings whereas the return of Hardik Pandya makes him a more viable option batting down the order since he can also contribute with the ball.
With that being said, KL Rahul eventually will feature in both the limited-overs squads after having cemented his place in the middle order for the ODI side where he averages more than 50 batting down at 5. Whereas in the T20 format it’s going to be a toss-up between Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul on who opens with Rohit Sharma in the shortest format.
