Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has tweeted saying the Chepauk pitch is spinning like the 8th Day of the match. Just two days into the 2nd Test and everyone has started talking about the turn of the pitch in Chennai, though the Indian batsman didn’t face any difficulties in negotiating the turning ball on Day 1, the England batsman have had to toil it in the middle understanding the turning ball.

With Indian spinner Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin on a roll with the ball, the England batsman have no clue whatsoever where the ball is heading after pitching, out of the 6 wickets England have lost on Day 2, only 2 wickets have been picked up by the Indian spinners. The remaining four wickets have been picked up by the Indian spinners which include Ravichandran Ashwin absolutely castling Ben Stokes.

‘Ball spinning like 8th day of the match’ – Harbhajan Singh

With the way, the pitch has been behaving on Day 2, Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh described it as an eight-day pitch and has further predicted that the 2nd Test will get over in just 3 days time.

“First session of the test match Ball spinning like 8th day of the match #INDvsENG this test match will be over in 3 or 3 an half days I guess,” Harbhajan Singh wrote in a tweet.

Earlier on Day 2, both Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin striked early sending both openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley Back to the pavilion reducing England down to 16/2 in just under 8 overs into the innings.

On the other hand, on Day 1 Rohit Sharma who copped up plenty of criticism following low scores during the tour of Australia and in the 1st Test against England came back strong in the 2nd Test at Chepauk as the Mumbai man launched an astounding century knock on Day 1.

In the follow-up post-Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane’s dismissal, it was Rishabh Pant who kept things going as he scored an unbeaten knock of 58 runs off 77 deliveries only to run out of partners at the other end.
