The batting star from West Indies Nicholas Pooran is making all the noise for his blistering knocks in the shortest formats of the game. In the hindsight, the Caribbean has named two cricketers who he thinks can score the first-ever double hundred in a T20 match.
The 25-year-old batsman recently participated in 25 questions’ with the ESPNCricinfo segment where he made some interesting revelations. From naming Andre Fletcher as the best cook in the West Indies team to picking India as his favourite side after his own country, Nicholas Pooran justified why he is called ‘the spiceman.’
Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma can hit T20 double hundred – Nicholas Pooran
While answering the rapid-fire questions, Nicholas Pooran was asked which batsmen could hit a double century in the 20 over format. Without a doubt, Nicholas answered that West Indies legend Chris Gayle and India’s Rohit Sharma as the two batsmen who can breach the 200-run mark in a T20 inning.
Incidentally, Gayle holds the record for the highest runs scored ever in T20s when he smacked 175 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in an IPL game. On the other hand, Rohit has four T20I centuries under his belt. Chris Gayle was also the first batsman to hit more than 10,000 runs in the T20 format and has over 20 centuries to boot for and has hit a ton almost every T20 league he has played for.

Moving ahead, Nicholas Pooran believes Chris Gayle is the only batsman who has the ability to hit the most number of sixes in an over. Along with Gayle, the southpaw felt the other two might be fellow West Indians Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard.
