Mumbai Indians bounce back to winning ways
Despite the win, Mumbai Indians kept hanging in the middle of the points table. Rohit Sharma, nevertheless, was happy with his team’s performance.
“Absolutely brilliant, we needed this win badly after a couple of losses, we did pretty much everything right, from ball one, very clinical towards the end as well. This is something that was required, we took the responsibility, good to see a complete team effort,” Rohit was quoted as saying after the match.
Mumbai’s win much-needed win came after two defeats. Mumbai lost their last two fixtures against Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. The title defenders captain Rohit Sharma was seen happy after the win.
“Our bowling pleased me a lot, it’s easy to lose confidence when the opposition is doing well, but we stuck to our plans, very happy for Quinny, we know how dangerous he can be at the top of the order, good that he finished off the game. Not to forget, Krunal Pandya’s knock was crucial as well,” he added.
Mumbai’s batters Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya pushed them towards the win with their brilliance with the willow. A rare failure from Suryakumar Yadav caused a little tremor but de Kock ensure they go home safely.
Coming to Suryakumar Yadav, last year’s star has not had the best this far in the tournament. He has scored 170 runs in six outings at an average of 28.33. 56 is his top score in six games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
