Virender Sehwag posted a hilarious tweet after another day’s play in the WTC Final was washed out due to dogged showers. The World Test Championship (WTC) Final has been subjected to multiple interruptions so far, with the latest development hurting the chances of seeing a sole winner.

Day 1 of the much-anticipated WTC Final saw an anti-climactic end, with play being abandoned without a ball being bowled. Although the next couple of days saw 141 overs of riveting action, the story again became about the English weather on Day 4.

With the game neatly poised, cricket fans all over the world were sitting in anticipation of another day of attritional Test cricket. However, they were subject to disappointment when the situation at the grounds were revealed in the morning. Outfield soaked in rain covers on the pitches, and plenty of umbrellas meant the fans were in for a deja vu.

As the day progressed, everyone was hoping for at least one session as a best-case scenario. Unfortunately, even if the rain stopped at some point, it would be too late since clearing up the outfield would take a few hours. Eventually, the umpires decided to end the misery of everyone involved and called the day’s play-off.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, known for his wit on social media, usually comes up with quirky things to say on the cricketing events around the globe. This dire situation was no different, with the fans needing something to smile about desperately.

On his Twitter handle, Sehwag cheekily tweeted: ‘Batsman ko bhi Timing nahi mili dhang ki, aur ICC ko bhi’. It literally translates to ‘Neither could the batsman find some timing, nor the ICC’.

With no play on Day 4, New Zealand are sitting comfortably on 101/2 in the first innings, with skipper Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor at the crease. They have 8 wickets in hand and trail India by 116 runs.
