Mohammed Siraj’s finger on the lips celebration has been a hot topic of discussion among cricket fans. However some fans have criticized him for that, on the other hand, some fans have found the celebration interesting. While talking about the celebration Mohammad Siraj opened about the real meaning behind his finger on the lips celebration and said it is for the critics who thought he will not achieve anything.

“This story (celebration) is for the haters (critics) because they used to say a lot of things about me like he cannot do this and cannot do that. So, I will only let my ball do the talking and hence this is my new style of celebration,” Siraj said at the virtual post-day press conference after the third day’s play of the second Test at Lord’s.

“Fast bowlers play an important role in England. We were bowling at consistent lengths. Our plan was to bowl consistently at one length,” said Siraj “I was looking to bowl at one spot consistently even during my Ranji Trophy days. My simple plan was to not try much hit at one spot consistently,” he added.

“The wicket wasn’t helping that much so we planned to use a bouncer”: Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj had a great outing at Lord’s as he came very close to clinching a five-wicket haul under his belt. Siraj went on to pick 4 important wickets for India in the second Test match. While discussing bowling Jonny Bairstow bouncer Siraj asserted:

The wicket wasn’t helping that much so we planned to use a bouncer as after the next eight overs, a new ball would have been taken. So the plan was to bowl short balls.”

“The wicket has improved for batting we will look to put on runs on the board. We try to score as many runs as possible,”.

Meanwhile when Day 3 ended England was bowled out by India with 27 runs lead. However once again the main man of England’s batting unit was English skipper Joe Root. Notably, Root scored an exceptional century and remained not out on 180 when England got bowled out.
