Team India openers were facing a tough time against England pace battery on the Day 3 of the Headingley, Leeds Test. The English pace unit was getting a lot of help from the surface and they utilize every bit of it. Indian opener KL Rahul was seen struggling a lot against the fast bowlers and he was having a very tough time on the crease.
Meanwhile, he even survived a close appeal with the help of Rohit Sharma’s review. However, he was unable to survive for a long time in pitch as Jonny Bairstow’s stunning catch sent him back to the pavilion.
In the last ball of the 19th over of the inning, Craig Overton bowled a beautiful delivery that edged Rahul’s bat and went back towards the slip. Bairstow who was standing in the 2nd slip did a great dive on his left side to complete the stunning catch. KL Rahul looked disappointed as he walks back to the pavilion after scoring only 8 runs.
Notably, in India’s first innings of the third match, he was dismissed on a duck by James Anderson. Overall it was a forgettable Headingley, Leeds Test for the young Indian opener.

This spell from Overton has been right out of the top draw. And a ripper from Jonny Bairstow. Wow #ENGvIND

At the time of writing, Team India was trailing by 320 runs with 34 runs on the board and at the loss of one wicket. Rohit Sharma was once again looking in good touch scoring an unbeaten 25. The big 3 of the Indian batting unit; Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Ajinkya Rahane, have to fire with the bat if India wants to survive in the match.
After 78 all-out in the first innings, the whole Indian team is already under tremendous pressure.
