Team India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant’s Test career got a great boom after the heroics of Gabba, as India chased down the big target of 328 on the 4th innings. Pant scored a valuable 89* to take India home. Pant carried on his good form during England’s tour of India, scoring 270 runs in four Test matches. Pant’s performance in these two series had put the youngster miles ahead of veteran Wriddhiman Saha.
Unfortunately in the current ongoing series against England, Rishabh Pant has struggled to find his midas touch. He is getting out in the similar way and so far has scored 87 runs in 5 innings with a below-par average of 17.40. Former England captain Michael Vaughan advised that Pant should bat at No.7, which will give the visitors a perfect balance.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Michael Vaughan said:
“If I would be the captain I would move him to 7, If Ashwin going to bat at 8 I would move Rishabh to 7.”
“Go for it, don’t be ultra aggressive, he is he is trying to play technically, he is a better player when he play cross batting shots, dancing down and playing 45 degree angle hook shot on the off side”
“Rishabh is still most exciting cricketer in the world, and he is having one of those period where he has not find out. But its a difficult place (England) to bat, where ball still moves around, even though he came at 6 ball still moves”. Vaughan further added.

Three years ago Rishabh had scored the counter attacking century at the Oval. Although India couldn’t saved that match but it marked the announcement of new era in Test matches for India. All eyes will be on Rishabh Pant as India are back again at Oval with the five-match series hanging in the balance.
Both teams will be looking forward to take the lead with the series tied at 1-1.
