Former England player Kevin Pietersen has predicted that the current ICC World Test champions New Zealand might not be playing the Tet cricket in 2026. However, he revealed that on Twitter and stated that only four or five countries will be active at that time to play in the longer format as well.
He said India, Australia and England as three of them as well. The last two nations on his list were South Africa and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, his tweet went viral on Twitter in no time and many have started questioning Kevin Pietersen why he has predicted that New Zealand would not play Test cricket in 2026.
Amid this situation, a fan tried to remind him that the New Zealand team have recently won the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship. To which Pietersen has clarified that he made the tweet, keeping them in mind.
He explained: “Yep! Won’t be around in 2026! No kids want to play Tests! It’s history will help it’s survival with the bigger boards. Nothing against NZ at all. I’m just saying what I’m starting to see.”

On the other hand, the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 is already underway and India are at the top of the points table. India have secured another 12 points to strengthen their lead at the top of the ICC World Test Championship points table. They currently have 26 points under their belt with a percentage of 54.17, 14 more than second-placed Pakistan. West Indies are in the third spot followed by England with a win percentage of 29.17.
As far as the ongoing five-match Test series between India and England is concerned, the Test series is currently tied at 2-1 with the fourth Test will finish today only. While the England vs India 1st Test ended in a draw after the final day was washed out, India won the second Test at Lord’s and England had the last laugh in the third Test as well while the visitors came back to win the Oval Test.
