Delhi Capitals southpaw Shikhar Dhawan enter into the second half of IPL 2021 as the highest run-getter so far in the season. He has scored 380 runs from the first seven games in and sits at the top of the pile. The franchise start their campaign against Sunrises Hyderabad on September 22.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals Instagram handle posted a video of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw enacting the viral “Mani Pohe Banenge” meme. The dialogue is from the serial ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ where ‘Kokila’, the matriarch of the Modi family gets angry at Mani, the house help.

Both Dhawan and Shaw were not picked in India’s T20 World Cup squad that was announced by the BCCI recently. For Dhawan, times are even more difficult as he has recently divorced his wife Aesha Mukherjee.
However, despite all the recent ups and downs, Shikhar Dhawan is back with Delhi Capitals and focused on winning the IPL title this season.

Dhawan’s opening partner Shaw has also scored over 300 runs in the first half of the tournament. He is on 308 runs from eight games. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant was retained as the skipper of the franchise for the UAE leg earlier.
in a video posted by the Delhi Capitals Twitter handle, Rishabh Pant spoke about Delhi’s chances of winning the title this year. Since 2018, the side has been consistently making the playoffs.
‘’Our ultimate goal is to win the trophy, but we are going to focus on our process. Hopefully, we can continue to play the way we did in the first half of the IPL 2021 season and we can go on and win the IPL trophy this year” said Pant.
