Star batsman Babar Azam has been ruled out of the two-match test series against England due to a wrist injury. He succumbed to a painful injury after a nasty blow from English paceman Ben Stokes on the second day of the first test.
Pakistan posted 363 on the board with a lead of 179 runs and dominating the match at Lord”s. Azam scored a wonderful 68 that included 10 boundaries before walking off the field. He received a great applause from the crowd after being retired hurt as his innings prevented the fall of wickets at a quick pace.
His X-ray results were negative he is expected to be out for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. PCB hasn”t announced any replacement for the youngster and it will be interesting who will make it to the second test to fill his shoes.
England was bowled out for a paltry 183 in their first innings, courtesy Hasan Ali and Abbas who picked four wickets each. Pakistan won the match at Lord”s during their tour in 2016 (Famous push-up celebration of Misbah-ul-Haq) and they will be trying to replicate the same to gain a lead in the ICC Test rankings.
