Indian skipper Virat Kohli believes Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s practical inputs and eye for intricate details will help the Indian team improve. The Board of Control for Cricket in India, last month, announced MS Dhoni as the Indian team’s mentor for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
Ahead of the marquee tournament, the Indian skipper addressed the media. He expressed his delight at MS Dhoni’s returning to the team. Kohli highlighted that Dhoni has always been a mentor for the players. He asserted that the young cricketer will learn a lot from the former skipper’s experience. Kohli said:
“He’s (MS Dhoni) quite excited about getting back in this environment. He has always been a mentor for all of us when we were starting our careers at the time he played and now he has the same opportunity to continue the same again. Especially for the younger guys who are in the early stages of their careers, just the experience that he has gained over the years and having conversations with him about the game.”
