New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel has created history by picking up ten wickets in India’s first innings in the Mumbai Test. With this, he has earned a lot of praises from all over the cricketing fraternity, including India’s former cricketer Virender Sehwag.
However, Ajaz Patel became the only third bowler in the history of Test cricket to claim ten wickets in an innings. Although his efforts went in vain as Team India registered a thumping victory against New Zealand by a huge margin of 372 runs in the Mumbai Test as well.
Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag took to his official Twitter account and applauded the bowler. He congratulated the Kiwi spinner and wrote that it was a day to remember for him as well. The spinner, however, didn’t take much time to respond to the former India cricketer’s Tweet as well.
Replying to Sehwag, he also recalled the instance wherein the swashbuckling opener had smashed him out of the ground when the spinner was a net bowler.
“Thank you @virendersehwag, funny story I still remember you smashing me out of the ground at the outer oval at Eden Park when I came in as a net bowler Face with tears of joy,” Patel wrote in the reply.
One of the most difficult things to achieve in the game. 10 wickets in an innings. A day to remember for the rest of your life, #AjazPatel . Born in Mumbai, creating history in Mumbai.

While responding to Ajaz Patel’s reply, Sehwag has added that the feat he has achieved in the Mumbai Test is extraordinary. He further shared that the audacity of his achievement is so high that more than India’s win, everyone is talking about his ten-wicket haul.
“Waqt ki aadat hai , badalta zaroor hai. What you have achieved in Mumbai is extraordinary so much so that India ki jeet se jyada aapke charche hain. May you achieve ever more success and good luck,” his tweet read.
