European cricket leagues aren’t simply sporting events; they’re also distributors of joy. The viral clips from the T10 matches are no less than Stand-Up Comedy Videos.
The match between Indian Royals and Brothers XI Portugal on 31st March 2022 wasn’t an exception. Brothers XI Portugal won the toss and elected to bat. They ended with a score of 108/6 in 10 overs. Balwinder Singh (29 off 14) and Aman Manhas (23 off 13) were the top performers.
The match was reduced to 6 overs due to rain. The revised target for Indian Royals was 71 runs. Openers Md Shaikat and Amandeep Khokhar gave them a quick start. On the last ball of the second over, Shaikat played a shot towards the leg side. Due to a misfield, the batters were able to take 3 runs.
However, completing the third run wasn’t a pleasant experience for Md Shaikat. The throw aimed towards the bowler’s end directly hit Shaikat’s Abdominal guard. The batter collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain. The commentators couldn’t stop laughing at the incident.
Shaikat lost his wicket in the first ball of the next over. He played a quickfire knock of 27 runs off 8 balls. He smashed 4 sixes during his innings.
