Ishan Kishan was extremely disappointed after his dismissal in Match 26 of IPL 2022, against Lucknow Super Giants. He was the most expensive player of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Mumbai Indians had acquired him for a whopping price of INR 15.25 crores.

During the 7th over of MI’s innings, Marcus Stoinis bowled a good length delivery. Ishan Kishan looked to gently work it towards the on-side. Unfortunately, the ball took an inside edge of the bat and rattled the stumps.

Kishan had to depart for a score of 13 runs off 17 balls. He was livid with himself. He smashed the boundary cushions with his bat while walking back to the dug-out.

Ishan Kishan started IPL 2022 in a great manner. He first scored unbeaten 81 runs against Delhi Capitals and followed it with another half-century against Rajasthan Royals. Since then, his performances have fallen flat.

He has managed scores of 14, 26, 3 and 13, which are slightly concerning. However, the youngster should back himself to make a comeback in the tournament. His form will be a crucial component if MI wants to do the unreal (almost) task of qualifying for playoffs after losing the first 6 games.

Sixth Consecutive Defeat for Mumbai Indians

Five-time IPL champion skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl. The opening pair gave great momentum to Lucknow Super Giants right from the start. Skipper KL Rahul batted till the end. He played an unbeaten knock of 103 runs off 60 deliveries.

This was his 3rd IPL hundred, 2nd as a captain. Manish Pandey (38), Quinton de Kock (24) and Deepak Hooda (15) also made some useful contributions with the bat. LSG eventually posted 199 runs on the board. For Mumbai, Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Kieron Pollard- all got a start but failed to convert it into a big innings and win the game for the side.

Avesh Khan was the top performer for LSG with the ball as he picked 3 wickets in his spell. KL Rahul was adjudged player of the match for his spectacular innings. With this one, Lucknow have occupied the second spot in the points table with eight points.
