Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2022 season. The Chennai Super confirmed the news on their social media handles.
The left-handed cricketer got injured while attempting a catch against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 4. Even though he continued fielding, Jadeja was ruled out of the following match against the Delhi Capitals. The all-rounder has a bruised rib, informed Kasi Viswanathan.
Jadeja’s injury was assessed by the media team, and only after discussion between the team and Jadeja, it was agreed that it will be best for Jadeja to take a break from the IPL and focus on his recovery.
“He has a bruised rib. The medical advice is he should not strain it, so we have decided that he should leave the IPL,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said as quoted by Espncricinfo.

The match against the Delhi Capitals was only the second match that Ravindra Jadeja has missed for the Chennai Super Kings since his debut for the franchise in 2012. The recovery time for the all-rounder is not yet known. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at how fans reacted to Jadeja getting ruled out of IPL 2022.
Huge blow to #CSK with Jaddu out of action for the remainder of the IPL. Wishing you a speedy recovery @imjadeja #TataIPL

"Bruised rib" very interesting injury term, but Jadeja has been a match winner for CSK over the years.
With home games back at Chepauk next year, CSK might not release him (unless he has riled up the big guys), but who knows he might want himself out.

Wanna think #Jadeja's ruling out as injury. But still the thought, '#CSK𓃬 unfollowing him first, & then him being ruling out of the season..' is banging on my head! Wanna treat it as his injury also seems like Ravindra Jadeja the next Suresh Raina! 😕#RavindraJadeja #IPL2022

Ravindra Jadeja came into this IPL in the form of his life, became MS Dhoni's successor as CSK captain, team didn't achieve success, his form dipped. Dhoni took back the captaincy, Jadeja got injured while taking a catch, now all set to be ruled out of #IPL2022. Talk about life.

Ravindra Jadeja’s dismal performance in IPL 2022
Ravindra Jadeja was announced as the captain of the team before the start of the Indian Premier League 2022 season. However, the Chennai Super Kings’ campaign could not take off under his leadership. The franchise lost six out of its first eight matches. Following this, Ravindra Jadeja handed back the captaincy to Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The captaincy pressure also hampered the all-rounder’s performance in the tournament. In ten innings, he scored 116 runs at an average of 19.33 and a strike rate of 118.36. With the ball, Jadeja has five wickets from 33 overs at an average of nearly 50.
