Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has had a dismal form with the bat which has been the talking point in the ongoing IPL 2022. The batting maestro recently opened up on a hilarious conversation with Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler.
However, Kohli has not let his abysmal form take a toll on his mental health and produced a fine knock against Gujarat Titans on Thursday night in a must-win encounter. Recently, he saw the funnier side of things when Rajasthan opener Jos Buttler approached him with a question.
The incident took place in the aftermath of RCB’s loss against RR by nine runs in Pune on April 26. In a chat with Harbhajan Singh for Star Sports, Virat Kohli said:
“Jos Buttler came to me, after the Rajasthan Royals match and said I want to ask you something and I told him that you’re wearing the Orange Cap what do you want to ask me, I am not able to make runs – and we had a laugh about it.”
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler has been having a memorable season with the bat. He has already amassed 627 runs with three centuries to his name at a healthy average of 52.25.
Virat Kohli guides RCB to a much-needed victory vs GT
The 33-year-old cricketer stormed back to form with a powerful knock of 73 runs off 54 balls to guide Bangalore to a crucial win over table-toppers Gujarat Titans. Virat Kohli added 115 runs with Faf du Plessis for the opening wicket to set up the run chase.
Although Du Plessis got out, Glenn Maxwell‘s 18-ball 40 helped RCB chase down the total convincing with eight balls to spare. With this victory, the Royal Challengers are currently at 16 points and are still in the hunt for a top-four finish.
RCB will only qualify for the playoffs if Delhi Capitals lose against Mumbai Indians on May 21. A win for Delhi in their final group game on Saturday will see Rishabh Pant and Co progress through to the playoffs. Both teams will end up on 16 points if DC win but they have a much superior Net Run Rate.
