A roller-coaster ride of an innings from
Bairstow and Warner helped Sunrisers Hyderabad post a huge score of 231/2 on
the board against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Hyderabad.
Bairstow and Warner literally had no mercy
towards any RCB bowler and they were able to clear the ropes with ease.
Bairstow took charge than the the latter and made sure to bring his maiden IPL
century in his third innings. Bairstow”s knock of 114(56) included 12
boundaries and 7 sixes. His sixes against youngest IPL debutant Prayas Barman
were a treat to watch and the spectators enjoyed it to the fullest.
On the other side, David Warner got his
fourth IPL century in the final over of the match. He remained unbeaten on 100*
off just 55 deliveries. It is to be noted that Warner already holds the record
for maximum number of half-centuries in this league. The partnership of 185
runs between the duo is the highest opening partnership till date leaving the
record made by Lynn-Gambhir (184) in 2017.
This is the second instance in the
cash-rich league where two players from the same team piled up centuries to
post a competitive total on the board. The previous instance was from the
swashbuckling combo of AB – Kohli in 2016 against Gujarat Lions at Bangalore.
Twitter couldn”t just start appreciating
the destructive opening pair and at the same time trolling the RCB bowling line
up for messing up their plans.
