Pakistan cricketer Shadab Khan’s gesture to hug a spectator on the field during the second ODI against West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday has earned praise from fans on social media. A spectator invaded the pitch to salute the Pakistan cricketer.

The incident occurred during the 39th over in the first innings of the match. As Anderson Philip ran in to bowl the fourth delivery of the over, the play had to be stopped due to a fan invading the pitch. As the spectator came close to Shadab Khan, he saluted the Pakistan cricketer. Shadab then hugged the fan, which received rousing applause from the crowd.

Shadab Khan scored 22 runs off 23 balls, including a boundary and a six in the first innings of the match. He pulled off a brilliant bowling performance in the second innings. Shadab Khan dismissed Romario Shephard and Hayden Walsh and finished the innings with 2/40.

Mohammad Nawaz’s fantastic bowling performance leads Pakistan to victory

Pakistan spinner Mohammad Nawaz’s bowling performance powered his team to a 120-runs victory at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday. He took 4/40 in nine overs and won the Player of the Match. The spinner dismissed the likes of Shamarh Brooks, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, and Rovman Powell.

Mohammad Wasim Jr. too bowled well in the match taking three wickets for 34 runs. Earlier, skipper Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat first. He scored 77 runs, while Imam-ul-Haq contributed 72 runs in the first innings. Pakistan managed 275 runs at the loss of eight wickets. Akeal Hosein took three wickets for West Indies, while Alzarri Joseph and Anderson Phillip picked two each.

The hosts managed to bowl West Indies out for 155 runs and won the match by 120 runs. They have an unassailable lead of 2-0 heading into the third and final ODI on Sunday, June 12.
