Mumbai Indians And J&K Pacer Rasikh Salam Banned For 2 Years

0

Mumbai Indians pacer Rasikh Salam has been banned by the BCCI for a period of two years. It is reported that Jammu and Kashmir pacer submitted a false proof of his birth certificate and this, in turn, lead to the turn of events. He represented Mumbai Indians this season and played only one match for them.

This ban means that Rasikh will not be able to participate in any BCCI state tournaments and the IPL.

It is to be noted that he was initially named in the Indian Under-19 squad tour of England in the month of July. With these proceedings, Rasikh has been replaced by Prabhat Maurya in the side.

This year Rasikh Salam debuted in the IPL against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai Indian”s opening match. In the process, he became only the third player from Jammu and Kashmir to bag an IPL contract after Parvez Rasool and Manzoor Dar. He only played a solitary game for Mumbai Indians.

This issue was already under the scanner by BCCI a week ago, but now it has been proved officially that he wasn”t born in the year 2001.

“I am shocked by the news. He is such a talented player,” said J&K teammate Parvez Rasool.

After Rasikh Salam”s expulsion from the U-19 squad which were playing a tri-series against Bangladesh and England in England, starting July 21, the updated squad is as follows-

Updated India U-19 squad: Priyam Garg (capt), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Thakur Tilak Verma, Divyansh Saxena, Shaswat Rawat, Dhruv Chand Jurel (wk), Shubhang Hegde, Ravi Bishnoi, Vidyadhar Patil, Sushant Mishra, Prabhat Maurya, Sameer Rizvi, Pragnesh Kanpillewar, Kamran Iqbal, Priyesh Patel (wk), Karan Lal, Purnank Tyagi, Anshul Khamboj

Further development on this news is still expected.
