After a thumping win against arch-rivals Pakistan, India will square off against Hong Kong in the fourth match of the Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Cricket Ground in Dubai on Wednesday, August 31. A win in this game will see the Men in Blue book a Super Four berth in the continental tournament.
Ahead of India’s second fixture, the cricketers were seen sweating out in the nets. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul were seen batting in the nets in what appeared to be their final practice session prior to the game.
Along with the prominent names, the likes of Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, and Suryakumar Yadav were also seen in tonking mode ahead of the clash. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the video on their official handle and captioned it:
“Match Day #TeamIndia all set for #INDvHK #AsiaCup2022.”

India are likely to make a couple of changes to their playing for the final group game against Hong Kong. As things look from the final practice session, the Men in Blue might give a shot to the likes of Deepak Hooda and Rishabh Pant to stake a claim in the playing XI.
“You are doing a grave injustice to Dinesh Karthik” – Aakash Chopra on India’s playing XI
Aakash Chopra wants Team India to play Rishabh Pant ahead of Dinesh Karthik in the playing XI for the Asia Cup 2022 match against Hong Kong. He expressed that India should go ahead with Rishabh Pant, as batting at number 7 is a grave injustice to Dinesh Karthik.
“Can there be any changes done in this match? I feel there is one change that should but will not happen. If you have to play Jaddu (Jadeja) at No. 4 and you need a left-hander at No. 4 for sure, if you can’t do without that, then play Rishabh Pant because, at No. 7, you are doing a grave injustice to Dinesh Karthik also,” Chopra said.
“What is the gain from batting there? A specialist does not play at No. 7, but I feel that is not going to happen. India is going to go with the same team in this match,” he added.
