The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic has forced all cricketing actions to stop for over two months now. As a result, cricket boards have incurred massive losses. Thus, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is mulling to field two simultaneous teams to recover the money. Speaking on the lines, former India opener Aakash Chopra has picked India’s Test and T20I XI if two teams play simultaneously.
There is no dearth of talent in India currently. The introduction of the Indian Premier League has been the benchmark of youngsters to display their talent and be in the reckoning for a national call-up. Many cricketers have made their debut impressing in the cash-rich league. As a result, India won’t face much of problem if two teams play simultaneously.
Aakash Chopra picks Test and T20I XI
Recently, cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra sat down to pick his two squads. While the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami made the Test squad, Aakash named KL Rahul as his skipper in the T20Is. Ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah made it into the shorter-formats alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar.
It will be an exciting experience for the fans to witness two Indians teams play simultaneously. Virat Kohli & Co faced a drubbing against New Zealand losing the ODI and Test series. However, BCCI had to call-off the three-match ODI series against South Africa owing to COVID-19.
