Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has backed Virat Kohli to perform well against England in the fifth rescheduled Test match. The solitary Test will take place in Edgbaston, Birmingham, starting from July 1. Kohli hasn’t been in the best of forms in the last couple of years. He has struggled to perform consistently and convert his starts into a big score.
Virat Kohli’s last international century came in 2019 against Bangladesh. Even in the Indian Premier League 2022 season, the veteran cricketer struggled to make an impact. He averaged just 22.73 across the tournament, his lowest since the 2010 season. The right-hander also bagged three ducks in the season.
Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag expressed that Virat Kohli will be desperate to get a big score against England in the fifth rescheduled Test match. Last year, Kohli averaged 31.14 in four Test matches in England. Virender Sehwag said on the Sony’s pre-match show ‘Extra Innings’,”
“Do you remember when was the last time, Kohli scored a century? Even I don’t remember. He would definitely want that he scores big in this Edgbaston Test which is the series decider.”

“I think his bad days are over. Ab lagta hai behtar din ayenge (I think now his better days will come) and they have already started. He has scored fifty in both the innings.” (Virat Kohli scored a fifty in the 2nd innings, while 33 runs in the first innings.)
