India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs in their Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash on Wednesday, securing a spot in the tournament’s final. Batting first after being invited, India put up 168 for six in 20 overs. The innings was powered by Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 75 off just 37 deliveries. He shared a rapid 77-run partnership with Shubman Gill (29) in just 6.2 overs, giving India a dominant start.

However, once both openers fell, the middle order failed to keep the momentum alive. Hardik Pandya chipped in with a fighting 38 from 29 balls to take India past the 160-run mark. For Bangladesh, the chase revolved around Saif Hassan, who struck 69 from 51 balls.

Unfortunately, none of the other batters offered significant resistance, with only one managing to reach double digits. Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 127. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball, finishing with 3 for 18, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets each.

Abhishek Shines, But Kuldeep Bags Medal

While Abhishek Sharma’s half-century earned him the Player of the Match award, the dressing room honour of ‘Impact Player of the Match’ went elsewhere. Kuldeep Yadav was recognised for his outstanding spell that broke the backbone of Bangladesh’s batting. The medal was presented to him by Indian cricket team analyst Hari Prasad Mohan, who highlighted the spinner’s quality.

The Impact Player Award goes to someone who showcased serious skills with the ball. In the modern-day T20 cricket, not many players display spin, drift, and dip with such remarkable consistency. So, the award goes to none other than, Kuldeep Yadav,” said Mohan while presenting the medal.

Kuldeep’s Reaction And The Road Ahead

After receiving the award, Kuldeep Yadav credited the team effort and praised his bowling partners. “Overall it was a good game. With the ball, Hardik and Bumrah were excellent. As spinners, our job was to control the middle overs and pick the middle-order wickets. We did well. The intensity was good and let’s carry the same in the next game,” he said.

His performance, combined with disciplined bowling from the rest of the attack, ensured India’s dominance in the match. With this win, Suryakumar Yadav and his men advanced to the summit clash. The winner of the Pakistan vs Bangladesh encounter will now face India in the final, setting the stage for a high-voltage conclusion to the Asia Cup 2025.
